30 Day Public Comment Period- Canon Mac Metals Remediation

A Public Meeting will take place on October 4, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. in the Houston Borough Building, 42 Western Avenue, regarding the  Former Canon-Mac Metals Site, located at 2329 Hill Church Houston Road, Canonsburg in Houston Borough and North Strabane Township, which will be remediated soon. The Redevelopment Authority will provide a $450,000 loan to Howard Concrete Pumping to partially fund the remediation project. Public comments will be accepted by the Redevelopment Authority from September 19 through October 19, 2017.

The Washington Health System held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on August 30 to celebrate the opening of its new Outpatient Center in California Technology Park. The 9,000 sf facility is the new home of WHS Family Medicine – California where healthcare professionals and dedicated staff will provide the highest level quality care to residents of the local community and students of California University of Pennsylvania.  The Outpatient Center will also house a lab draw site, space for specialty physicians as well as additional space to add diagnostic and other services in the future.

The Washington Health System Outpatient Center joins businesses currently located in the Park, including Pennatronics, Rose Plastic, DreBo, WestRock, Perryman Company, Cal-Ed Federal Credit Union and DEP Bureau of Mines.  California Technology Park is owned and marketed by the Redevelopment Authority.

 

30-Day Public Comment Period

The Former Elrama Chrome Shop Site, located in the Elrama neighborhood of Union Township, will be remediated soon. The Redevelopment Authority will provide a $20,000 loan to the Township to partially fund the remediation project. Public comment s will be accepted by the Redevelopment Authority from August 30 through September 29, 2017. An information repository for the project, including a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, is located at the Redevelopment Authority office and is available for viewing during normal business hours. The Community Relations Plan and the draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives for the remediation of environmental hazards at the Former Elrama Chrome Shop Site will be available for viewing at the Redevelopment Authority office and can also be downloaded here.
