COMMUNITY ACTION SOUTHWEST ANNOUNCES OPENING OF NEW ADDITION AT DONORA HEAD START FACILITY

 On Friday, October 28, 2011 the Highland Terrace Head Start Facility in Donora celebrated the opening of its new addition with an Open House. In November 2010, the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington awarded a contract in the amount of $499,717 for the construction of an addition at the facility which is located at 110 Gallatin Drive. The project involved the construction of a 1,500 square foot addition which will provide one classroom, a socialization room, office space, and restrooms.
Hotel California Grounbreaking

 The Washington County Board of Commissioners and the Redevelopment Authority held groundbreaking ceremonies today to mark the development of a new hotel in the Borough of California. California Hotel Associates will build a new Hampton Inn & Suites on five (5) acres of land it is purchasing from the Redevelopment Authority in the California Technology Park.
FY 2010 CONSOLIDATED ANNUAL PERFORMANCE AND EVALUATION REPORT (CAPER)

In accordance with Title I of the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, P.L. 101-625, the County of Washington has prepared its Fiscal Year 2010 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for its Consolidated Plan. The Consolidated Plan is a requirement for direct assistance under certain HUD Housing Programs and for the Community Development Block Grant Program.

 The Redevelopment Authority is currently marketing a piece of property on East Maiden Street in the City of Washington at the Detroit Street Industrial Site. The parcel is .3764 of an acre and has all utilities at the site.

Washington County Local Share Account (LSA) Program
The Washington County Local Share Account (LSA) Program supports community and economic development. LSA is available annually and funded by gaming revenues, which are distributed through grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. All 2012 LSA Application Information was due to the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington on October 14, 2011. Questions can be directed to the Redevelopment Authority at 724-228-6875.
McGuffey Meadows Homebuyer Assistance Program
 The objectives and purpose of the Program are to assist homebuyers in attaining their goal of homeownership by providing financial assistance for the purchase of newly constructed townhouses in the McGuffey Meadows development within the Borough of Claysville.

Washington County FY 2010-14 Five-Year Consolidated Plan
The Washington County FY 2010-14 Five-Year Consolidated Plan outlines priority needs, goals, and objectives for housing needs, non-housing community development needs, homeless needs, and non-homeless special needs. The Plan also outlines how Washington County will utilize Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds, and Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) funds over the next five year period.
Washington County Homebuyer Assistance Program
The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington has established the Homebuyer Assistance Program to assist first-time homebuyers in attaining their goal of home ownership by providing financial assistance for the purchase and rehabilitation of eligible housing units.
USDA Closing Cost Assistance Program
The Redevelopment Authority of Washington County has established the USDA Closing Cost Assistance Program to assist first time, low income, homebuyers in attaining their goal of home ownership by providing financial assistance.
Highland Ridge Homebuyer
 The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington has established the Highland Ridge Homebuyer Assistance Program to assist homebuyers in attaining their goal of home ownership by providing financial assistance for the purchase of newly constructed houses in the Highland Ridge Neighborhood within the City of Washington.
