The Washington County Redevelopment Authority is a leader in delivering economic development projects in Washington County.  It is best known for the 600 acre multi-use Southpointe development along Interstate 79 just north of Canonsburg.  The Redevelopment Authority has also developed the California Technology Park and Maiden Business Park.  The Authority’s economic development efforts include brownfield projects such as Donora Industrial Park and Detroit Street Site that have pumped new life into old industrial sites making them attractive for new development. 

The Redevelopment Authority has completed downtown revitalization projects in the Boroughs of California, Canonsburg and Charleroi and the Cities of Monongahela and Washington.  As the Redevelopment Authority’s $15 million streetscape improvement project in the City Washington nears completion, Phase 1 of the Crossroads development project is rising in the heart of the City.  Construction of the 140,000 sq. ft. Nationwide Centre building is underway and when complete will bring with it hundreds of new jobs to the City of Washington and a strong  foundation for future investment in the Central Business District. 

To further support economic development activity in Washington County, the Redevelopment Authority offers a wide array of loan programs and economic development services. These programs along with providing necessary infrastructure and sites that are pad-ready for development will add to Washington County’s growing reputation as a prime location for new business and business expansion.
