Municipal Planning and Cooperative Initiatives

The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington encourages multi-municipal initiatives such as comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances and subdivision and land development ordinances.  The RACW promotes municipalities to plan jointly in order to plan more effectively and efficiently, better utilize resources and increase competitiveness for more funding opportunities from government sources.  The RACW administered the following initiatives:

·  Mid-Mon Valley Regional Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance

·  South Franklin/Green Hills Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan

·  Monongahela/New Eagle Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision and Land Development Ordinances

· Carroll/Finleyville/Union/Nottingham Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan

·  Claysville/Donegal Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan

Funding is provided by:

·  Community Development Block Grants

·  Local Government Academy

·  Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development

·  Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington
