RACW Partners with Lots of Hope

Persons with disabilites or families that have children with disabilities can now have an opportunity to buy a new, accessible home in Washington County thanks to the Washington County Board of Commissioners and the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washinton (RACW) under the Lots of Hope Homebuyer Assistance Program.

On January 21, 2010, the Washington County Board of Commissioners presented a check in the amount of $300,000 to Board Members of Wash Arts as part of the Washington County Local Share Account Program.
Five Year Consolidated Plan and FY 2010 Annual Action Plan

 Notice is hereby given that the County of Washington (County) is currently preparing its Five Year Consolidated Plan for the period of FY 2010-2014. The County will apply for FY 2010 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) funds, and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The County will conduct public hearings on the use of CDBG, HOME, and ESG funds received from HUD for the five-year period FY 2010-2014 and for FY 2010.
Deadline for 2010 Local Share Account applications extended to December 1, 2009

The Washington County Commissioners, in consultation with the Legislative Delegation, have extended the deadline for 2010 Local Share Account applications by approximately one month, to December 1, 2009.
FY 2008 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER)

Washington County has prepared its fiscal year 2008 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for its Consolidated Plan. The Consolidated Plan is a requirement for direct assistance under certain federal programs, which fund housing, community development, and economic development activities within the County.

2010 Washington County Local Share Account (LSA) Program
The Washington County Local Share Account (LSA) supports community and economic development. LSA is available annually and funded by gaming revenues, which are distributed through grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. An entity that desires to request 2010 funds from the Washington County LSA will provide information as detailed in the 2010 Funding Request Information Packet. All requests for 2010 LSA funding must be received by the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington no later than 5:00 P.M. on December 1, 2009. Washington County Homebuyer Assistance Program
The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington has established the Homebuyer Assistance Program to assist first-time homebuyers in attaining their goal of home ownership by providing financial assistance for the purchase and rehabilitation of eligible housing units.
USDA Closing Cost Assistance Program
The Redevelopment Authority of Washington County has established the USDA Closing Cost Assistance Program to assist first time, low income, homebuyers in attaining their goal of home ownership by providing financial assistance.

Highland Ridge Home Rehabilitation Program
 The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington has secured funding to provide home rehabilitation assistance for eight (8) homes in the Highland Ridge neighborhood as defined as the geographical area within the recorded Redevelopment Plan.

 The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington has established the Highland Ridge Homebuyer Assistance Program to assist homebuyers in attaining their goal of home ownership by providing financial assistance for the purchase of newly constructed houses in the Highland Ridge Neighborhood within the City of Washington.
