The Comprehensive Plan for Marianna and West Bethlehem was developed over the course of two years, with input received from planning board members as well as the public at-large. A series of seven community development objectives were developed to address priority issues and concerns.
West Brownsville Zoning Ordinance Draft now available

West Brownsville Borough has prepared a zoning ordinance as an implementation item of the Comprehensive Plan they adopted in February of 2013. The ordinance is now in the public comment period. Please review the ordinance and -provide written comment by 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2014.
PROPOSED WASHINGTON COUNTY FY 2014 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN

The proposed Annual Action Plan for FY 2014 has been prepared. The Consolidated Annual Plan for FY 2014 outlines how the County intends to expend Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program funds, HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program funds, and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program funds. In accordance with the federal regulations at 24 CFR, Part 91, the County is required to prepare and submit an Annual Action Plan for its Housing and Community Development Programs.
In order to obtain the views of citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties, the County of Washington has placed its proposed FY 2014 Annual Action Plan on public display from March 25, 2014 through April 23, 2014. The proposed Annual Action Plan for FY 2014 will be available for public review for 30 days. Public comment on the proposed Action Plan can be directed to the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington, 100 West Beau Street, Suite 603, Washington, PA 15301.
Public Notice - Community Relation Plan and Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternative for the former YWCA property

The purpose of the Community Relations Plan is to describe the Project Site’s Geographic location and the strategy of the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington for implementation of a Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund Program and Prospective Loan Borrower, to address the needs and concerns of the residents potentially affected by the proposed removal and clean-up of environmental contamination present at the former YWCA Building located at 42 West Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301. This is the start of the 30-day public notice. The Redevelopment Authority will receive comments for the next 30 days.
CENTURY PLAZA APARTMENTS EXPANSION PROJECT GROUNDBREAKING

On December 4, 2013 at 1:30 P.M., the Washington County Commissioners joined Federal, State, and local officials for a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the $2.3 million Century Plaza Apartments for the Elderly Expansion Project.
The project involves the construction of 14 new apartment units that will be connected to the existing 65 unit Century Plaza Apartments facility which is located at 1880 West Chestnut Street in North Franklin Township.
Washington County Local Share Account (LSA) Program
The 2015 Local Share Account (LSA) Information is now available. All requests for 2015 LSA funds are due to the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Summerlea Avenue Homebuyer Assistance Program
The two new single family homes will be constructed as part of the Summerlea Avenue Homebuyer Assistance Program. The homes will be approximately 1,400 square feet and include three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a one car garage. Threshold Housing Development, Inc., a Community Housing Development Organization from Uniontown, will construct the homes, which will be sold to eligible low/moderate income buyers. Down payment and closing cost assistance will be made available to eligible buyers.

The Washington County FY 2010-14 Five-Year Consolidated Plan outlines priority needs, goals, and objectives for housing needs, non-housing community development needs, homeless needs, and non-homeless special needs. The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington has established the Highland Ridge Homebuyer Assistance Program to assist homebuyers in attaining their goal of home ownership by providing financial assistance for the purchase of newly constructed houses in the Highland Ridge Neighborhood within the City of Washington.
